United Kingdom Government requested the 2017 plastic packaging recycling 57%

It is learnt that the United Kingdom plastics industry unveiled a plan, called for greater efforts to complete the Government's 2017 57% plastic packaging recycling goals. This named "plastics industry action plan" plan calls for all practitioners to make efforts to achieve the goal.

In 2013, the United Kingdom recovered 787,050 tons of plastic packaging. 2013 launch of plastic packaging is if the Government approved a total of 2.49 million tons, a figure, United Kingdom 2013 year of recovery is 32%.

Allegedly, if not all such as the Central Government, local government, waste management, recycling, supporting projects and forcing the full participation of users, producers and processors, the achievement of this goal will be difficult.

United Kingdom company Valpak recycling organisation WRAP and cooperation estimates that to wait until 2020 to achieve the recovery of 57% goals. On this basis, the Government is currently consulting the relevant agencies to study whether this responsibility should be modified, reduced to a 42% of the original plan and timetable to be completed later.

Meanwhile, the industry also called on practitioners to take a variety of measures to improve the recovery rate of plastic, including clear policy threshold set by the Government, expanding the scope of recyclables species, improve the quality of recycling plants packing material.

This plan is the United Kingdom Association of WRAP and "plastics 2020 organization" designed for the two institutions. "Plastics 2020 organization" by the European Association of plastics, United Kingdom plastic Association and plastic packaging films association formed a special group.
